We've still got plenty of snow and ice in these parts, so the option..
..of staying in, warm and cosy, making mince pies with the boys seemed like the better option yesterday.
Despite the enthusiastic bashing the pastry got the pies turned out really well!

Looks like you had a lovely time with the boys. Something they will remember with fondness for sure. My boys are always thrilled when they can make their own sugar cookies. I would do it with them for Christmas, but a friend had a cookie festival today and sent us home with 19 varieties of cookies so I think we are set for a while. Happy holidays to you and yours, Tammy

What a great memory-maker for your grandsons! I wonder if mince pies in the UK are quite different from here in the US? My other used to can mincemeat....the meat came from the neck of an elk, usually...and there were raisins and other spicy goodies in the mix. So many people I know have never eaten mincemeat pies.
You look to have had a good time making mince pies - how I envy you - Max doesn't like them and Daniel & Joel are more interested in 'what's on the barbi'!! LSxx
