Homework for Grown-ups.

Whenever I go to the local shops I always pop in the Hospice Charity Shop.  I've mentioned on here before about our local Hospice shop being the best to place to buy books.

Well, I popped into the Hospice shop this week on Tuesday morning for a quick nosey.  I had Charlie, my little grandson, with me so I was a little distracted by him and not concentrating properly on what was on the bookshelves.

I did however spot this little treasure of a book and was fascinated by it.  Really it's a mini encyclopaedia, a veritable treasure trove of knowledge.  I love books like this the kind that with every dip into something new is revealed.  I picked it up, had a quick look in it and then put it back on the shelf.

Tuesday night I didn't sleep well and the main thing that was going through my head was this book.  Why did I not buy it!  It was in immaculate condition and only £1 for heaven's sake!  So, yesterday morning I made another trip to the Hospice Shop and wonder of wonders there it still was, on the shelf, waiting for me to claim it.  I handed over my £1 and skipped all the way back to the car with it happily tucked under my arm.

It doesn't take much to make me happy.

Ah-huh..yep!
I know that feeling :-)
I have a weakness for secondhand books!
Hope you get many hours of pleasure from your find - at least you won't be scared of getting a bad mark on your homework lol!

That does look like a treasure indeed.[o= I love when I find books like that. And you wouldn't find anything like that in todays market, sadly. Enjoy your wonderful find and what a neat simple pleasure.

Blessings and ((HUGS))!

I completely relate to this! I would most certainly do the exact same thing in his situation from picking it up, loving it, putting it back (for who knows what reason), thinking about it all night, and going back to get it! I love that it was still there waiting for you. I'm sure you will treasure it for a long time!

Fun! I love little treasures like that. And I have to laugh about you skipping. The other day someone wrote that it's hard to be crabby when skipping. I think it has been 20 years since I skipped...so I tried it. Happily I can still do it...in the privacy of my own back yard! Have a great day!
